MINI REN 2026: THE YEAR OF FIRE

We will once again be attending Seidr Brewing’s annual event in Arab, AL!

On September 19th, the gates of Mini Ren open once more, and the realm shall burn bright with excitement. Witness fearless knights clash in steel-on-steel combat. Cheer on mighty competitors in the Highland Games as they test their strength and skill. Join pirates in song and revelry. Enjoy live music throughout the day, marvel at daring acrobatics, and watch skilled jugglers perform feats worthy of royal courts. But this is the Year of Fire, and fire shall reign supreme.

Fire Giants Forge will be attending in full kit. Visit our merchant booth, where you can find all kinds of uniqe hand crafted wares. See our armored fighters as they battle for the glory of the EMP. ( Empire of Mideival Pursuits)

40th N. AL Renaissance Faire in Florence, AL

The 40th Alabama Renaissance Faire takes place on Oct 24-25, 2026. Admission is free. The faire takes place in Wilson Park and is handicap accessible with free street parking. No tickets are required. Free child activities, 80+ vendors & 17+ performers. We will be attending again this year. We love going to the Florence Renfaire every year. Our fighters from the EMP group Giants Forge will be doing demos both days of the faire. In addition, you can check out our every changing and expanding variety of wares offered up for your enjoyment. We will look for you there!

3rd Annual Scottsboro Renfaire...

Mark your calendars! The official date for the 3rd Annual Scottsboro Renaissance Faire has been set!

November 14th and 15th, 2026 we will be in Stevenson AL at a bigger site for even more mirth and merriment! Giants Forge of EMP will be there doing fighting demonstrations. Fire Giants Forge will also be attending with more unique trinkets and treasures for your purchasing pleasure!

Blacksmithing Lvl 2

Take your blacksmithing skills to the next level by crafting intricate, organic forms from solid bar stock.  Build on your skills forged in Blacksmithing Level 1 to create one piece forged flowers.  

In this next level course, students will learn advanced forging techniques to shape tulips and lilies using heat, hammer, and anvil—no welding or additional materials required. Emphasis will be placed on controlled tapering, upsetting, and detailed petal shaping to create lifelike flowers entirely from one piece of metal.

By the end of the course, students will walk away with beautifully forged floral sculptures and the knowledge to apply similar techniques to other decorative metalwork.

Welding 101 Class

Level 1 This is a basic introduction to home welding and processes.  Utilizing a MIG welder, you will create a welded steel box from precut parts.  At the end of the class, you will have a steel box to take home.  

  • Material Selection and Preparation – Different thicknesses of materials and how to prepare them for welding.

  • MIG Welder Basics – How a MIG welder works with gas and without gas.  The advantages and disadvantages of each method.

  • Joining Techniques – How to weld a proper bead and join your pieces together.

  • Finishing and Cleaning Your Work – Methods for cleaning up your welds post welding

Basic Blacksmithing Level 1

Step into the world of blacksmithing and forge your first creation in this hands-on introductory course! Designed for beginners, this class covers the fundamental principles, essential techniques, and must-have tools of blacksmithing. The Faire itself is put on by an all volunteer, not for profit organization known simply, as the Roundtable.

The time period for the Faire is considered to be from 1100 to 1650 A.D., this covers the Medieval and Renaissance eras of Europe.
Although as always you can find just about anything there! Sort of a Ren faire, comic-con, SCA (medieval recreation group) mash up.
